If you listen to Fox News Channel you will know that even the media recognizes that Christianity is under attack. Even the more liberal stations are beginning to report it.

Chrstians are being perceived differently than what they think they are. Could it be that we are hypcocrites in the eyes of the non-Christian? Could it be that we are not representing Christ in a fashion that is connecting with people. Why are so many people more prone to believe in God than go to church? Something is not right somewhere.
Give me your thoughts about this. let's talk about it.

I agree with the report. In the eyes of non-Christians, we are either members of a cult (fundamentalist), hypocrites (most) or illiterate yokels that just don't understand reality. I had been around non-Christians exclusively for many years and those are the prevelant ideas. I also might add, non undeserved images either. Most "churchs" are just big social clubs. Most who claim christianity 1) don't really understand it and 2) are not saved, having never heard about salvation. We, who hold the Bible as literal truth, are held in distain as blind followers of a exclusionary supersticious mythology. Not even most who claim the label "Christian" hold the Bible to be "truth". Its no wonder the non-Christians have such little respect for Christians, look at their examples... Jim Baaker, Pat Robertson, Pope whoever, Robert Schuler, and on and on and on... The most prominent Baptist in recent years (at least in the news) is Jerry Falwell and we know how the press treats him and his public comments. I don't believe Christianity will ever win the masses, but Jesus will win souls, one at a time...
Folks don't want to be made to feel guilty about their sinful behavior. They want to have their cake and eat it too. They want to know they will go to heaven but, they don't want to be held accountable for their sins.
They don't want to be "judged" so, they find fault in others and call them hypocrites. "Legalism" in some churches has led to the incorrect definition of "sin". God, not man, defines sin and he wrote it in "His" book. Reading it will clarify many misconceptions being fostered by mislead teachers.
Read the Bible and then find a church that teaches and preaches it. It is the inerrant word of God and contains the truth.
