Someone Tell it...100 New churches!

We are in the middle of our ABA messenger meeting as this blog is being written. So maybe some of my brothers will catch this.

How simple it would be for someone on the platform of the Messenger Assembly to say: "Let's set a national goal of starting 100 new churches", or "How wonderful it would be if the churches of ABA would determine start 100 new churches next year." Would someone be bold enough to cast that vision?

In the meantime we could help this little grassfire to spread by simply telling others around us:
"Let's encourage our churches to plant 100 new churches this year".

Someone keep telling it until we catch it. Let's start 100 new churches!

Where do you guys keep coming up with that UNBIBLICAL "VISION" stuff, anyway??? Please don't say that it comes from Proverbs 29:18.

Starting 100 new churches is a fabulous idea. However, it will take 100 men who are willing to go where the sponsoring churches feel led to send a missionary. We have been looking for a year for a missionary. Realistically, you're not going to see 100 men establish 100 new mission works.

Just where is it that you are trying to find a missionary to go? If you have been looking fora year could it be that God has a different plan or a different place? Remeber, God is never early, never late, but always on time!

Instead of trying to put out the flame, why not fan it? Remember you are either part of the solution or part of the problem. I personally plan to be one of the 100. Who will join me?

"We walk by faith and not by sight"
Our Vision comes from God!
Our Vision comes from His Word
Our Vision comes when the Holy Spirit impresses the heart of men to do Gods Will by His Word!
Moses said " Be unto us instead of eyes "

When we as men only do what it seems to us that we can do.....It is then that we no longer walk by faith and then that we are using our own eyes and not His!

If you have never done anything beyond your ability then you have never been used by God!

Vision is letting God guide us to do something that we can not see and can not do on our own!

There is nothing wrong with having a vision, especially since we have already been commanded to do the stuff we are envisioning. Staring churches has already been the mandate of the NT church, so we don't need a new mandate, a new vision or a new anything, we jsut need to do the job. One of the problems we face and I know I face it here in Ontarion is stability of the starting church and bearing the financial responsibilty of a new work.
I also think the current model of the single income pator is dead for the most part. We must be willing to let men build other sources of income so that when the time comes to let them "float" on their own as a church the man is able to support his family.
By settinig a funding limit of 3 years or whatever we make sure that the resources to do somthing somewherelse is there, but the man has the financial capacity to keep the work that is established going. Foreigh fields would fall under a different code.

In response to "anonymous", we are looking for a missionary to send to southern Louisiana in an area of 20,000- 25,000 people who are not being exposed to the true gospel. My point is that the idea that 100 men are going to be obedient to God's call to go and start new mission works would be wonderful, if they would do so. There is nothing wrong with setting goals, and I am not trying to put out a flame. However, I think one should be realistic. I am sure that there are several churches who are in the same position that we are in. If we get our missionary in place before this upcoming year, then you can add us to the total of 100 new churches being established.

A church in Southern Louisiana sounds awesome. But why wait for some man, Just go do it. If God has laid a burden on your heart don't expect God to give someone else the same burden. Do a Bible Study in the area, Do something by faith to prove God's burden on you.

MikeinUtah,
First I am in the place that God wants me in Northwest Alabama. The second thing is that the work is needed in my hometown. I have no desire to go back down there because God has not instilled that desire in me. However, our church is burdened for the area and has the desire in accordance to the will of God to send the man that God wants to that area.

You guys are unbelievable.Guidry, you say be realistic with goals? How is 100 churches unrealistic? There are 50 states in the USA, is it too much to hope for 2 in each state? As far as the area in Louisianna not being exposed to the "true gospel" what does that mean? That there is no ABA Church? No Baptist Church? Or no evangelical church? Remember that the is not the only denomination teaching the true gospel. This type of thinking is narrow and part of the problem as to why we (ABA) are dying in general. No personal offense I hope is taken, I just don't understand what you are trying to say.
